Eligibility

This competition is open to any current or formerly qualified working lineman. It is to recognize, and demonstrate the skill, education, and safety of a lineman through their normal workday practices. The Lineman can compete in the following two categories:

Apprentice

The apprentice class is open to any lineman currently in an apprenticeship program, having been an apprentice for no more than four years. Apprentice lineman will compete individually.

Journeyman

The journeymen will compete in three-man teams consisting of two climbers and one ground man. The climbers must be qualified journeyman linemen. Journeymen climbers over 45 years of age will qualify for the “Masters” category. The ground men for the Masters team need not be over 45 years of age.
